TOT’s Technology offers a flexible, reliable and innovative method of collecting downhole pressure/temperature data at surface from single or multi zone DST’s whether vertical or highly deviated. The real time and historic data from MTQ (Quartz) and/or MTS (Strain) “talking” gauges will be transmitted to surface by acoustic relays that can be externally clamped to the pipe.
The relays can transmit data from different “talking” gauges located in different parts of the string. This could be from “talking” gauges reading pressure from different zones or “talking” gauges located above and/or below the packer. It is also possible to use it to function other devices downhole. The system has a sliding sleeve (MSS) that could be used as a circulating valve above the packer and/or as a downhole shut in valve located below the packer. The MSS will open and close using acoustic pulses. It can also activate individual bottom hole samplers by sending acoustic instructions from surface. Importantly, activation return signals confirm at the data collection terminal that the instructions/functions have successfully been performed.
This allows early identification of hydrates, waxing, stack temperatures, sand production, slugging, riser noise and real time density changes in multiple locations in and around the landing string. Also allows monitoring of any differential pressures across the subsea test tree to aid efficient testing operations and reduce wasted rig time and costs. Features and Benefits
● No wireline required;
● No limit to the quantity of gauges/tools (such as PVT Samplers, MSS Sliding Sleeves etc.) that can be
communicated with or controlled;
● Acoustics transmits across packers / sand screens / gravel packs andhorizontal sections;
● Tubing and /or annulus monitoring;
● Downhole data can be viewed at surface from the time the string is in the hole.;
